Merlin supports the ITSR Framework for disruption management processes. It standardises and optimises the approach to restore services back to timetable and share information across multiple stakeholders.

Introducing Merlin – ITAL’S Train Service Management System, a presentation layer that brings rolling stock, train crew and disruption information into one central place to be managed in real-time.
Merlin extracts the timetable, rolling stock and crew diagrams allowing for the creation and manipulation of diagrams in real-time, particularly when there is disruption.

MERLIN – Train Management System has been designed to unify and present resource data in one viewable space, speeding up decision-making and improving communication and information for staff and customers.
Merlin’s Station Working Book presents a range of information in one single view and makes it available across the business. Data includes:

CREW CENTRED DIAGRAMS (CCD)
This enhances the user interface for managing traincrew. It enables users to add journey legs into a host diagram from another diagram which uncovered.
STATION AREA TRAIN OPERATIONS (SATO)
A new controller and DTM interface which is an enhancement to Station Working Book, it facilitates the stepping-up of stock and traincrews during perturbations to service, without the need to alter diagrams.

Our in-house technical and UX design expertise, ensures our clients have the tools and solutions at their fingertips to meet business requirements and solve industry challenges.
ITAL is already working with Arriva Rail London, Greater Anglia, MTR Elizabeth Line and South Western Railway. And are in discussions with c2c, Great Western Railway and Network Rail around adopting Merlin. This means rolling stock and train crew resources and new diagrams can be shared from East to West via the London corridor.
