Driver
Schedule Cards

Overview

Driver Schedule Cards

ITAL has developed digital driver schedule cards to complement the existing paper process. We hope in future years, changes to driver schedules can be moved to a real-time digital platform so that updates can be received and excepted immediately, updating downstream systems such as Darwin in real-time.

  • Diagram legs and the timetable schedule for every train
  • Incorporates real-time disruption from Darwin
  • Updated in real-time via Merlin

Moving to a real-time digital platform provides significant business and customer benefits that include:

  • Significantly reduces delay minutes and dwell time
  • Downstream systems (Darwin) instantaneous updated once a driver accepts a change
  • Improves the overall customer experience
  • Reduces impact on other services and the overall network
  • Updates can be sent to any member of traincrew, meaning they can update and assist customers.

Emergency Speed Restrictions (ESR’s) / Temporary Speed Restrictions (TSR’s)

It is on the ITAL roadmap to provide ESR’s and TSR’s into the Kinetic App platform so drivers and other members of staff can receive updates as they happen before and during a shift. It also empowers staff with information that can be passed onto customers at a station or onboard a service as they happen.
